From LEED fundamental and enhanced commissioning to total building commissioning services, EcoHill is committed to detailed and quality oversight of complex systems. Our commissioning agents (CxA) have a combined 50 years of HVAC-geothermal-splits, and design/build experience. Beyond LEED commissioning requirements, our professionals and processes can commission core and shell, refrigeration, domestic hot water, geothermal, lighting, on site renewables, and building automation systems. Our LEED and building knowledge base positions us as your unique and dedicated partner to help insure LEED requirements and responsible installation practices are followed.
Ecohill will provide commissioning services that will insure building systems that operate at peak performance. At minimum, systems that need to be commissioned are HVAC, lighting, and domestic hot water. For LEED, fundamental commissioning is a mandatory requirement under EAp1 and enhanced commissioning under EAc3 is a credit. Enhanced commissioning can provide greater rewards and higher performance but will also require more paperwork. A commissioning agent (CxA) separate from the design team is necessary to insure third-party verification and is a requirement for buildings over 50,000 sq. ft.
Tbe LEED certification process is mostly paperwork and the handling of documentation. EcoHill will guide clients though the entire the LEED application and certification process and will assist clients through the entire design and construction phases. LEED administration (project management) usually involves a LEED charette and a few meetings & workshops to develop a collaborative spirit. We stay involved in the project and handle all of the paperwork that make certain that your building is certified on time and with the most possible points.
LEED puts an emphasis on whole building design to guarantee that the designed building performs above current buildings standards. It is important that all parties are in unison when designing the building. The cost of a LEED project is almost the same as a standard building if the project starts off with LEED in mind. LEED as an afterthought will be both time consuming financially costly due to possible design and procedure changes. Our consulting services work to verify and clarify LEED definitions and procedures to offer clients clear choices moving forward.
EcoHill also offers LEED feasibility assessments for new and existing buildings that lay out the costs and benefits of going for LEED certification. Whether a client's project goes for LEED or not, our assistance is beneficial as the project can still utilize the "best of green" ideas generated to reduce the building load and operation costs.
